Being Aunt Kate

My nephew visited me the first week in May. I was only 13 when he was born, and for the first several years of his life we were a bit more like siblings with a big age difference (though, when he was 4 he thought I was just 6!). He is now 17, which I thought was a great time to have him visit me and for me to get to know the older version of my nephew. I now have three precious little nieces that also make me an 'aunt', but he was the first one to call me by that wonderful title. :)

Here's a little photo gallery of our time together.

Airport Smiles- me, happy to see him. Him, happy to be off the plane! ;)

Hangin' out/on the cathedral in Frankfurt.
Some castle on the Mosel River

Our hostel (green trimmed building). My nephew had thoughts of a horror movie like place.

Cheering on the gladiators at the coliseum in Trier

Taking it all in at Notre Dame Cathedral in Luxembourg.

Eating a 'Quick' lunch
(that was the name of the fast food place)

Being a super star with the kiddos at the preschool in the woods.

Bike ride! We rode our bikes to the next village to visit an old monastery.

Biking back into town. I went on my first village to village bike ride with my nephew!

Chillin' with the biermeister statue in Lich

Farewell airport picture. I was crying inside.
