another week...

Last week turned out to be something of a relational week.

On Wednesday I was able to visit my friend and GEM colleague in rehab who recently had heart surgery. That evening I celebrated with a friend her getting a job offer for after she graduates this fall. On Thursday (a holiday day here) I spent time with a good friend who is moving away for a year, whom I will really miss (it will help that I'll be living in her house, but still...). On Friday, I got to spend a little bit of time with a friend I have not seen in a while. Yesterday I enjoyed lunch and a game with a great family, and later, coffee, cake and a walk in the park with the housemates.

All that being said, last week was not that easy of a week for me personally, which is maybe why God blessed with so many opportunities to be with friends. And that is one of the reasons I am glad that He directs our steps, even though we make our plans (Prov. 16:9). Had I just followed the plan I had for each day, I would have missed out on at least half of the encounters I had with friends last week, a week where I was going through some stuff and just needed to be with people, to share with them and listen, to celebrate with them, to encourage them and be encouraged, and to enjoy the sweetness and blessing of the various friendships God has blessed me with in my life, most importantly my friendship with Him.
