A beautiful fall day at the park.
Swan looking for food or hiding from my camera, I was not sure...
A teenage swan, almost all white.
These pictures were from a walk in the park I took last Sunday. It was a beautiful fall day, and the swans were enjoying it too. Seeing the colors and the grown up swans made me realize how long I have lived here already. Really, it feels like such a short time since I arrived. But already I have seen winter turn into a colorful spring, spring into a warm summer, summer into a crisp fall, and now I am starting to see the first signs of winter (like Christmas decorations in the stores)!
Seeing the swans, whose eggs were just laid when I arrived, grow and change has been a visual reminder for me of the passing time here. In some ways I have grown a bit as the swans have. As far as my German goes, I am certainly no longer a gray little duckling with no idea of what is going on! In other areas too I have felt a change as I have had to learn how to live in this new place. Also like these young swans, I am not done growing yet!
Looks like it was a wonderful fall day. I love when the colors of the trees turn and the leaves are lighter than the sky. Beautiful reflection in the water.
