This Americans are here! My church here in Germany (Christusgemeinde) is partnering again with my church in Charlotte, NC (Southbrook Church) to host an English Camp for teenagers. The theme is Real Life, Real World- Stop Watching, Start Living. Every day we will be looking at a different reality show and relating the different themes to the teens daily lives and the Bible and God.
Will you please pray for a good camp? We are leaving tomorrow and driving about 3 hours to a camp/retreat center. There are 48 teens signed up for the camp, 19 American team members (5 adults, 2 college students and 12 teens) and 15 from the German team (including me :D!). Several people from the American team, and a few from the German team have gotten sick in the past week, including some people with fevers. Please pray for healing and health and energy for everyone, including the campers.
My responsibilities for the camp are 4 Creative Workshops and the Late Night Lounge, which I decided should be aLate Night Luau Lounge! A friend of mine and I are doing 4 creative workshops. I love crafting and have missed doing it as supplies are very expensive here. Thankfully the American team is able to bring many of the supplies with them, so we will be able to paint, make jewelry and mosaics to our hearts content! The Late Night Luau Lounge will be open every night after the evening program. This is a time to connect with the teens and talk with them about what we just heard during the evening program. It is also a good time for snacking and playing games! Strangely enough others from the team did not volunteer to stay up late every night. For me, this was a perfect job! It means decorating, late nights, snacks, talking with people and being a hostess! Really, what could be better?
I will send out a 'part 2' after the camp to let you know how everything went.
Thanks!
